The most popular beach is Plage des Cocotiers (Coconut Beach), situated somewhere 5km northwest of the city centre. It's great for swimming, perfect for sunbathing, the sand is quite clean on the whole. A sure favourite among tourists. For swimming you can also go at the Hotel Source du Nil, they have a pool there ($2).
